Rise Up & Read Event on April 26

On Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 4PM, Harbor School will host a special Rise Up and Read! book reading event at the Vashon Public Library. We'll share stories that celebrate Earth Day and inspire us to care for our planet. This event is geared toward children in grades K-5. This event is FREE and open to the public.

ALL AROUND US Written by Xelena Gonzalez with illustrations by Adriana M. Garcia, and RAINBOW WEAVER/Tejedora del Arcoiris by Linda Elovitz Marshall with illustrations by Elisa Chavarri.
 
Once a month, Harbor School & Carpe Diem’s Race Equity Book Club invites the Vashon community to read aloud age-appropriate children's books that introduce topics and people that have been typically underrepresented in children's books. We aim to engage the youngest early readers in kindergarten through 5th grade. These events also include games and creative movement.
 
This event is free and the public is welcome.
